21-11-13 (Glen de Vries)
00:00 / 00:52
On Nov. 9, 2021, I interviewed Blue Origin space tourist Glen de Vries, who took part in the company's second civilian spaceflight, NS-18, alongside fellow crew mates William Shatner, Audrey Powers and Chris Boshuizen. Just two days later, on Nov. 11, Glen tragically died in a plane crash that made headlines.
NPR News Now picked up the audio of my 30-minute long interview with Glen and used a small portion of it in a podcast that aired in the early hours of Nov. 13.
I will never forget the humility Glen showed me, as he was so willing and enthusiastic to speak to me, despite being a student journalist. I feel extremely fortunate to likely have been one of his last interviews.
